Serin Institute for Literature Studies

Serin Institute for Literature Studies is first mentioned on page xii when Jen asks Eric if “Serin is paying for it” in the ink color that is representative of a later time than the initial comments.

“Serin” is French for “canary” (page 137)

On page 15, Eric mentions Serin when he says they are a group that wants to support his research.

On page 19, Jen brings up Serin again when she asks Eric why he thinks he got the money. Eric says he believes they may think he is capable of solving the authorship question surrounding Ship of Theseus

On page 109, Eric notes that Serin gave him a credit card with money for plane fare, hotel, etc. to go to Paris for Desjardin's funeral.
