Samar is the subject of an old painting that is being saved as part of the resistance in the town of El-H—-. There are many rumors and tales that arise surrounding the girl's actual identity and characteristics. Khatef-Zelh, a young girl who is rolling up the painting, speculates that Samar was the lover of artist Omar Tisatashar, who painted her portrait on the balcony of the resistance building. Some believe Samar was the lover of a sailor, or perhaps both men. Khatef-Zelh also remarks that Samar could have been just a figment of the artist's imagination.
